Siding & Exteriors in Raleigh

Siding, trim, porches and exterior paint — the outside of the house done as one project — in Raleigh and all around it.

The outside of a Triangle house fights humidity all year — moisture works into every unsealed seam, trim rots quietly behind paint, and siding that looked fine in March shows its age by August. Exterior work here is one project, not a list of little ones: siding, trim, fascia, porches and paint handled together, so the house is tight and finished at the end, not almost.

What's included

The brick ranches that fill Raleigh, Garner and Durham are their own case: the brick is good for another fifty years, but everything attached to it — porch posts, scalloped trim, fascia, shutters, gutters — is wood and paint doing battle with Carolina weather. Rebuilding a porch and repainting trim transforms one of these houses for a fraction of what people assume, and it is some of our favorite work. On sided houses, we replace what is failed, wrap what needs wrapping, and match new to old so the repair does not announce itself.

How we work

Walk the outside

Every side of the house, with a screwdriver for the soft spots.

Scope

What is failed, what is fine, and the price in writing.

Build

Rot out, structure fixed, siding and trim on, paint last.

Walk it

Around the whole house with you before the ladder goes on the truck.

Siding & Exteriors by city

The Triangle is not one market — a 1940s brick ranch inside the Raleigh beltline, a Cary HOA home and a Durham mill house are three different jobs.

Common questions

My porch posts are soft at the bottom. Is that structural?
Often, yes — posts rot from the bottom where water sits, and a soft post is carrying less roof than it should. It is also very fixable. We brace, replace the post or the base, and rebuild the trim so it never reads as a repair.
Can you match my existing siding?
Usually — profile and color both. When a profile is discontinued we tell you the options honestly: source the closest match, re-side the affected wall, or plan the whole-side replacement for when it makes sense.
Is it worth painting a brick house's trim instead of residing?
On a brick ranch, almost always — the brick is not the problem, the wood is. Rebuilding the bad trim and repainting the rest is the highest-return exterior work these houses can get.
